Remote Online Notarization (RON) in Ontario

You no longer need to leave your home or office to get documents notarized. Since 2020, the Law Society of Ontario has permanently permitted virtual commissioning. Our Remote Online Notarization (RON) service allows you to securely sign and commission your documents via video call from anywhere in the world.

What Can Be Notarized Online?

What CANNOT Be Notarized Online?

Certain documents require an original "wet ink" signature and physical presence. These include:

How the Virtual Process Works

  1. Upload Your Document: Send us your unsigned PDF document via our secure portal.
  2. Join the Video Call: At your appointment time, click the link to join a secure Zoom or Microsoft Teams meeting with our notary.
  3. Verify Your Identity: Hold your valid government-issued photo ID up to the camera so the notary can verify your identity.
  4. Sign Digitally: We will guide you through applying an electronic signature to the document while sharing screens.
  5. Receive Your Document: The notary will apply their digital seal and signature, and email you the finalized PDF immediately.

Technical Requirements: You will need a stable internet connection, a device with a working webcam and microphone (laptop preferred), and your physical ID.
